Heddon King Zig Wag Antique Lure

The Heddon King Zig Wag Antique Lure was first introduced in 1938 and manufactured all the way to 1953. The 1930’s through the 1950’s was considered a boom time for Salmon targeted fishing lure. Many of the top lure companies would be integrating Salmon rigged or type lures into their line up. The King Zing Wag made by Heddon of Dowagiac Michigan was a model series 8350.

This wooden lure can be found with both glass and painted eyes. The lure was segmented into two sections held together by a movable flat joint to create the wobble while trolling or retrieving. Essentially this lure is just a jointed Basser in simplicity and shape. Having a notched mouth or face that housed both a metal flasher lip and its single forward line tie. The King Zig Wag featured a break free string rigging for its two treble hooks. There is a trailing pork rind attachment for increased desirability for the finny tribe.

The lure shown below is in a Salmon & Collector favorite, Allen Stripey, Color code PAS. The example of the King Zig Wag below comes housed in its correct era HR Bush Box.
