Swiv A Lure

The Swiv A Lure was first introduced in 1949. Box. The Swiv A Lure was made by Lamothe – Stokes Manufacturing Company out of Detroit Michigan. The lure was a model YR-20. The lure was made in both plastic and wood over its life cycle as well as being made in Red and White and Red and Yellow. Looking Like a Legless grasshopper lure can be found in two sizes as well 3 1/4″ and 3 1/8″ in length.

In speaking with a fellow lure collector at a recent show he shared a neat story of uncovering the original patent papers and the dealer boxes and much of the stock. From what he conveyed the partnership between Lamoth & Stokes was a rocky one and never fully took off. The gentleman I spoke with said he ran into 50 gallon drums of assembled bodies, and 12 packs of dealer cases.
