South Bend Surface Floating Minnow Lure

The South Bend Surface Floating Minnow Lure was first introduced in 1912 by the South Bend Bait Company. Assigning it a model 920-through 922, all are relatively the same with small or unique differences. The Surface Minnow lure is made of wood, has traditional glass eyes, measures 3 1/2″ in length and weighs in at 3/4 of an ounce. This version of the series has a single forward prop and two weedless or Bing’s style hooks.

The 1912 South Bend Bait Catalog states: “When a surface bait is desired, these minnow prove very successful, the under-hung hooks meeting the strike in the most effective manner. The Solid White, Known as “The White Ghost” makes one of the best know baits for moonlight fishing.”

MSF – Mullet Scale
RAIN – Rainbow
RH – Red Head White Body
RSF – Scale Finish Red Blend
W – Solid White
