Shur Strike Plunker Lure

The Shur Strike Plunker Lure was first introduced in 1938. This antique fishing lure made by Creek Chub of Garrett, Indiana was labeled under the Shur Strike lure line up. The wooden fishing lure was a copy of the famous Creek Chub lure, and was actually fashioned like the early humpback Creek Chub versions. The antique fishing lure is wooden and measure in at 3″ and weighs a 1/2 oz. The Plunker lure utilizes the cup rig to secure its center treble and uses the screw eye to secure the rear trailing treble hook. This vintage Shur Strike lure was a top water fished lure with glass eyes and a single forward line tie which was inset into its concave mouth.

This Shur Strike Plunker is in frog spot finish which was available in its introductory year 1938 then reappeared in 1941. Frog spot is a desirable color even though it was one of the original 9 standard finishes on this antique lure. This Shur Strike was assigned a model PL for Plunker.
