Shakespeare Barnacle Bill Lure
The Shakespeare Barnacle Bill Lure is a really cool lure. This lure is a series model 6529, and was first introduced in 1931. The antique lure is made for salt water fishing, thus having a heavy duty forward line tie that runs the length of the lure. This wooden glass eyed antique fishing lure is 2 7/8″ in length and is made in a S curve type shape. The antique lure has its lead weights up in the forward part of the lure near the eye.
They often are found in poor condition, as salt water fishing is much more harsh on a lures finish than fresh water even in casual use. Even its cool shape accelerates its own demise due to the weak points in its curves as the wood naturally shrinks and expands with the environment. The Barnacle Bill can be found in a assortment of colors including Rainbow, Spotted, Red Head Flitter, Gold and Black Flitter, Silver and Black Flitter.
