Newton’s Admiral Line Antique Wooden Fishing Line Spool
This Newton’s Admiral Line Antique Wooden Fishing Line Spool twisted linen Cuttyhunk line was manufactured by the Newton Line Company (est. 1909) of Homer, New York. This line was only manufactured in 1940 and 1941 during that same period when Admiral Harold R. Stark was the Chief of Naval Operations, and so the likeness on the label is somewhat similar (minus eye glasses) to the real man who was America’s top Naval officer..
We have some great line spools available by following the link below
This spool and many others we have listed belonged to John Etchieson. John has spent decades amassing one of the largest line collections. The vast array of line spools and cards he has in his collection is historically significant as John has spent decades not only collecting, but rather researching these companies adding provenance to these pieces.
