Lim Bo Legs Antique Fishing Lure
The Lim Bo Legs Antique Fishing Lure was first introduced around Circa 1940. The first lure shown in the gallery is the introductory version, the second is a later vintage. The wooden, glass eyed frog spot fishing lure was the creation of LeVan Industries of Chicago, Illinois. This Vintage Frog Fishing Lure is a Diving Model, a Floater was available as well. This classic antique lure measures 2 1/2″ in length and has a location on the side of the lure with metal brackets attached where one would connect rubber/leather pork rind legs to create an even more life like swimmer.
The first example in the gallery below employs the use of a hollow center screwed in metal clip, while the second lure shown has just a painted solid bracket. The later model still uses a screw to fasten the bracket but it appear to be attached and made with the lure, rather than the into after the fact addition. LeVan Industries did not apply primer to their lures before painting them, alas mother nature and age are none too kind, and you will be hard pressed to find any without paint chips. These little fellas are certainly tough to find for the fly eater collectors, and overall a super cool misc lure to add to any type of collection.
