Heddon’s Dowagiac

Floating Diving Wiggling Minnow

The above illustrates our new “Baby Crab Wiggler”, a smaller pattern of the famous “Crab Wiggler” first put on the market in 1915 and which proved a record breaker on bass and other fresh water game fishes. Weight 3/4 oz.

This bait is painted in close resemblance to a fresh water Crab or Crawfish, floats when not in motion, dives under the water when retrieved. The movement being a pronounced wiggle, simulating the action of a crab when moving backwards, away from the danger. This novel new bait is drawn through the water tail first and the movement so closely resembles that of the live crab that it is irresistible to game fishes. Every angler well knows the crab to be the favorite food of the black bass and other game fishes.

The bait is equiped with double hooks and because of the peculiar angle at which it rides in the water, the double hooks will be found absolutely snag-less and semi weed-less, without detracting from the fish killing qualities. Shipped in the following colors:

1900 Fancy Green Back
1900S White Body Red & Green Spotted
1901 Rainbow
1902 Red & White
1905 Yellow Body with Red & Green Spots with Green Back
1909A Yellow Perch
1909B Imitation Frog
1909C Imitation Crab

Exclusive Features of the Heddon “Wigglers”

Notice the hooks are hung in patented “Dowagiac sockets. They cant tangle up with each other and so stop the wiggling movement as in other wiggling baits. Even rear hook is in a socket instead of an ordinary eye fastening. Note the three attachment points to the line regulating depth to which the Wiggler will dive, the last hole makes it possible to reel slowly. Running the bait very deep with a pronounced wiggling movement impossible with any other wiggling lure.

Heddon’s “Dowagiac” Wigglers

In quality, design and finish the the “Wiggler” is a genuine “Heddon’s Dowagiac” That should tell the story.

The color work, too, is up to the high Heddon standard. Furnished regularly in white body with red and green spots, as illustrated. Also supplied in three other attractive and successful color effects.

Floats, Dives Swims, and best of all, Gets the Fish. When reeled in its particular wiggling movement like a wounded minnow gets viscous strikes when other lures fail completely. A Wiggler floats when at rest a joy to beginners when a backlash comes. As soon as the bait is reel in, however it dives under water and weaves side to side. It is this wobbling motion the makes the “Wiggler” minnow irresistible to bass and other game fish.
