Heddon Midget Crab Wiggler Lure

The Heddon Midget Crab Wiggler Lure was first introduced in 1921, by James Heddon of Dowagiac Michigan. This wooden, glass eyed minnow would be the smallest lure produced in the fisherman favorite Crab Wiggler line up or series of baits. While the lure was created in 1921 it would only run through 1929 when it would take a multi year hiatus reappearing in 1937 and lasting until 1941. The lure feature two dual hooks to secure it prey, the hooks were held on by L Rig Hardware, Toilet Seat hardware and later two piece flap rig hardware. The front dual hook was adorn with the pork rind attachment.

The Heddon Midget Crab Wiggler Lure was available in a myriad of colors such as the beautiful Gold Fish scale below in the gallery. Measuring in at 2.5″ in length, this classic weighed in at 1/2 ounce, and was given a model series number 1950. The lure features a nose pin to help balance the lure and has a single line tie at the rear of the bait for the reverse retrieval standard on the Crab Wiggler family of lures.
