Bud Stewart Snake
The Bud Stewart Snake is truly a piece of art beyond the obvious category of being a antique fishing lure. The snake and the frog have always been two of my favorite Bud creations that were outside the normal spotted fish decoy world. The hand carved wooden body of the snake measures 5 1/2″ in length minus the tail. The ure comes with a medium style diving lip to bring it just below the surface of the water for its prey. While all fishing lures are meant to be fished as indicated by the addition of the two trailing treble hooks on this lure, Im not sure I could ever have the heart to try my hand at fishing one of these. Although the Pike or Musky, or large game fish it would illicit attention from would certainly lend to a good day on the water.
