Vermilion Mouse Lure
The Vermilion Mouse Lure is a cool little unit. This antique lure is wooden with faceted glass eye and has a leather tail. The mouse lure was first introduced in n the early 1920’s somewhere between 1922 to 1924, and was made by Frank Knill of Vermilion Ohio. The lure itself, minus the leather tail is 3 3/4″ in length. The Vermilion fishing lure has 2 trailing treble hooks secured with cup hardware, a diving lip which is secured with the line tie. The manufacturer touts its a proven fish getter on the box. The example shown below , is shown with the correct box and correct paperwork. You can find the Mouse lure in a few different color patterns or schemes. The maker, Frank Knill made a few other lures, however they we plain Jane type metal spoons, this was the only wooden lure he made.
