Tuway Bait Company Wobbler
The Tuway Bait Company Wobbler antique fishing lure dates to the late 1940’s early 1950’s. The Tuway fishing tackle company was located in Berkeley California at 1479 10th Street. Applying for a trademark application for the Tuway name in 1949, they claim to have been in business or doing business since 1945. 1945 the end of WWII saw quite a influx of new companies doing business as the world and the United States shifted from being a War Machine to that of a country welcoming back the normality of life and its people. Past times such as fishing, baseball, camping, traveling saw a boon time over the next decade.
We have a Tuway Wobbler in on Consignment this week, to visit click below.
Tuway made the Wobbler series lures in a few sizes. The example below in the gallery is a nickle plated size 3. The wobbler is simple in fit and function and it a rotating slab spoon with a single trailing hook. While not made of wood, nor fancy in looks simplicity works, as we have seen with one of the mos popular lures of all times, the simple spoon. Tuway also made a line up or series of Sardine Hooks, or Live bait harness that you will find mounted to colored cards and in multiple sizes. The combo below is shown in its correct green 2 piece cardboard box and wrapped in its original tissue paper.
