Steel Wiggle Frog Lure
This Steel Wiggle Frog Lure dates to 1949. Inventor Frank Steel of Wilmette, Illinois Created this 2 1/4″ plastic lure and was granted a patent in 1952. The lure is constructed on a wire harness and has a large clear plastic lip attached to the mouth that has the single forward line tie. The antique hopper has legs attached to the rear each having a single hook attached. The hooks are dressed with small tufts of white feathers.
This classic antique fishing lure comes housed in a clear plastic test tube that has a black metal cap. Frank Steel offered two different version of the frog, the Wiggle Frog and the Gurgle Frog. Steel also created at minnow lure called the Wiggle Minnow.
