South Bend Lil Rascal Antique Lure
The South Bend Lil Rascal Antique Lure is actually quite an obscure little vintage lure. The Lil Rascal was given a model series number 955 by the South Bend Bait Company of South Bend Indiana. This wooden lure is very similar to the South Bend Midget Pike Oreno that predates the Lil Racsal but was discontinied by 1942. The Lil Rascal was in production for only 3 years, 1950-1953. This South Bend Lil Rascal Antique Lure is constructed of wood and has oressed painted eyes. The lure measures around 2 3/4″ in length and has two trebles connected to the body of the lure via surface rig hardware. The lure has its name stenciled on the back of the lure body.
The 1950 South Bend Catalog Reads: “Its Impudent Action Gets Em. The Lil Rascal is a consistant results getter because its lively, impish impudent action is a nuts to you- Im not afraid of you taunt to every fish whose domain it invades. Its practicaly draws fish to strike it with fatal results to the dare taker.
