Sonic Live Action Lure
The Sonic Live Action Lure is a classic antique fishing lure. This lure falls into the rotary head category as when the bait is retrieved through the water it turns the head with the metal blades. The lure itself is comprised of a hollow plastic body with a partition through the center of the lure. This partition had a hole so that water could flow through from the head of the lure creating a vibrating action as it exited the rear. The lure was first patented by JF Mulcahey of East Gary Indiana in 1956. I believe the lure was released prior to its patent being secured by a year or two as was standard by many companies. The lure has a single forward fixed line tie and two treble hooks to secure its catch. Coming housed in a clear plastic clam shell style box as shown in the example in the gallery.
