Shakespeare Sea Witch Lure

The Shakespeare Sea Witch Lure was introduced in the antique lure catalogs in 1928. This lure made by the Shakespeare bait company of Kalamazoo Michigan was a model series number 133. This wooden fishing lure measures 3 3/4″ inches in length. If you will notice this salt water lure feature small glass eyes and a wooden fish shaped tail. The lure has a large loop front line tie, and two treble hooks, one secured via cup rig and the other by the rear screw eye hardware. On the underside of the lure just forward of the cup rig the antique lure has two belly weights inset to help it dive. The glass eyed Sea Witch shown is a lot harder to find than the pressed eye and was only made a few years. The lure can be found in less than a half dozen different color scheme paint finishes.
