Shakespeare Kingfish Wobbler Lure
The Shakespeare Kingfish Wobbler Lure is a series model number 6535. The antique fishing lure is Circa late 1930s to 1940 for a time frame. The Kingfish Wobbler minnow is 5″ in length made of wood and has pressed painted eyes. The lure has a distinctive keel underneath and is a single piece lure with three trailing treble hooks.
Another distinctive feature of this antique lure is the metal flash plate on the top of the lure. This unmarked flasher plate running from just behind the eyes to the center of the lure aligned with the back section of the lower keel. The lure has a diving plane recessed into its lip which is held to it with a dual purpose line tie screw. The diving lip plate is Marked Shakespeare as with most lures from the 1930’s and 1940’s. The lure can be found in a array of colors that were typical of Shakespeare to use on this era of lures.
