Drag located at rear where you can adjust it without .releasing crank. A wide nylon shoe gently but firmly grips a brass drum on the spool shaft — large area, long wear, smooth action. Changing spools docs not affect your drag adjustment. The spool is machined from solid aluminum. Built-in adjusting screw provides easy adjustment to keep line from building up at front or rear flange. A specially designed clip is built into the side of spool to hold end of line. You can change spools — to switch to a different size line — in 10 seconds with no loose parts.

Frame is die cast aluminum — rugged yet lightweight — satin-finished by a patented process to resist corrosion. Stem is attached with a screw, meaning inexpensive replacement if ever broken, instead of buying whole new frame. Bail snaps into position in less than 1/6 of a turn. Lays on line in smooth basket weave. Gear Housing — Large ring gear is special molded nylon for light weight. Pinion gear is stainless steel.
