Pflueger Magnet Lure
The Pflueger Magnet lure was a lure designed in the early to mid teens some records indicate 1916. This wooden antique Pflueger lure was a series 3600 and featured 3 treble hooks. The lure underwent 4 different modifications, between collar slop and hook hanger devices over its lifespan. The lure striking various similarities to South Bends Wood Pecker, and Shakespeare’s Surface Wonder, and Moonlights #1 Floating Bait lures.
The antique lure most found in Luminous and Red and White color Patterns was 4 1/4″ in length. Wayne Ruby’s Pflueger book does a great job a pointing out the different version features over time from the never fail hardware, to see through hardware, to surface hardware. One thing is clear this top water fished lure stood the test of time being produced close to 4 decades. The Magnet in the gallery is shown with the correct box and correct period.
