Paw Paw Jointed Dreadnought Lure
The Paw Paw Jointed Dreadnought Lure was introduced in the 1940’s. This gigantic wooden lure was made to fish the beasts of the great north country. It should be no surprise that the Paw Paw Bait Company of Paw Paw Michigan would have a series that directly target large fresh and salt water game fish. The model 5100 would fit that bill, and offer fishermen a myriad of options and colors. These lures were the largest lures that Paw Paw would make in its half a century history. As Heddon had its larger series Musky and Giant Vamp series Paw Paw had the Dreadnought.
We have a Jointed Dreadnought in on Consignment this week, click below to view.
Paw Paw Dreadnought
This large wooden lure would measure in at around 6 1/4″ in length and tip the scales at a whooping 2 3/8 oz. The lure as true to its maker would only be offered in a painted tack eye model. The lure could be purchased in a straight series or jointed as shown in the gallery below. This jointed antique fishing lure is one of the early model as shown with the “Piano” hinge style of connecting the two halves. The lure has three over size hooks to guarantee its hold on it’s catch once the strike has been made.
