Paw Paw Hungry Bass Lure
The Paw Paw Hungry Bass Lure was produced roughly around the 1940’s. This lure is listed as a Unknown in the Paw Paw Bait Company Book written both Reed and Scott. They deem it the Hungry Bass so Ill follow their lead. This antique lure made of wood measures 3″ in length. The lure is shaped like a industry favorite, the Plunker. The lure was a top water fished popping lure with a rounded concave mouth forming to a point or nose on top. Inset into the mouth is the lures single forward line tie. The lure has two hooks to secure its catch, both secured with an eye screw rig.
The lures has painted eyes as most all Paw Paw lures. It’s main attribute pointing to Paw Paw as its manufacture, is the traditional Splatter Paint shown on many Paw Paw lures such as the Wotta Frog. This splatter is the same in application however its a black shading splatter instead of the usual.
