Naughty Nymph Fishing Lure
The Naughty Nymph Fishing Lure is over a half a century old and dates to 1950. Its creator and patent holder Norman Mellot was from Moundsville West Virginia. The lure came in 4 different distinct sizes and weights. 1/4 oz, 3/8 oz, 5/8 oz & 1/2″ oz with lengths between 2 1/4″ & 3″. The example shown in the Gallery in a Model 105 and is designed to run deeper than the 104 with its bent diving lip.
The stainless steel lure is a basic sled shape the slices through the water being pulled by its forward line tie. The lure has 2 treble hooks both fore and aft to secure its catch. Inset perpendicular into the midsection of the vintage lure is a colored piece of plastic that not only is used as a attractant, but as a keel to help the lure run true. The lure comes houses in its correct light tan colored picture box.
