Howard Jet Plug Swimmer Lure
This is a Howard Jet Plug Swimmer Lure. This antique fishing lure was a creation if Howard Ladig. Ladig, was a partner in the J&H Tackle company with John Gamsby. This giant surf casting striper lure was made in Wrentham, Massachusetts. Measuring in at 6″ in length and made of wood, the swimmer plug is void of eyes and is stamped with its name on the under belly. The lure has a metal medium diving lip, and uses only 2 double hooks to secure its catch. Made for trolling and surf casting for stripes the lure features a heavy duty forward line tie and is wired through to increase its strength and durability. The classic fishing tackle piece is painted in a atypical North Eastern paint pattern seen on many smaller craft tackle makers of the 1950’s. Lasting only a few short years the surf casting & trolling plug was produced from 1952-1957.
