Heddon Musky Crazy Crawler Lure
The Heddon Musky Crazy Crawler Lure was first introduced in 1940. This antique fishing lure was manufactured in Heddon’s plant in Dowagiac Michigan and was assigned a model series number 2150. This giant lure makes quite a commotion coming across the top of the water. The lure lasted 17 years and was gone in the Heddon antique lure line up by 1957.
This wooden Crazy Crawler is the earliest version, black iris painted eye musky minnow, and measures 3 1/2″ in length. The Musky Crazy Crawler was the largest in length in the family of three. With a large reinforced wire through construction it has a single forward line, The lure has two large aluminum wings reinforced with larger screws. On the bottom of this antique fishing lure just aft of the head you see the first of two larger treble hooks. The forward is is held with the toilet seat hardware and the rear is attached to the wire though loop. Just behind the toilet seat hardware you see the red Heddon stencil.
