Heddon Giant River Runt Lure
The Heddon Giant River Runt Lure was made for Salmon, Musky and Pike. The shape is what appears to have been just the front end of Giant Vamp is now a Heddon of Dowagiac Michigan Series number 7510. The antique lure was first found around 1939, as Heddon seemed to beef up and expand upon its Salmon lure models.
This wooden, glass eyed, antique fishing lure came win a few different styles and some small variances to the length and girth of the lure over it life span. The lure always featured heavy duty hook hardware and a middle undressed treble and sometimes a dressed rear. The lure can be found in both regular glass eyes or the larger teddy bear style. The Giant Runt came with a giant sized diving lip. The Giant Runt was available in a few different colors, 3 of which I’ve highlighted in the galleries below.
