Our Most Valuable Invention
Our New No. 1500 with Dummy Double Hooks
The Minnow is the latest product of the Heddon’s Dowagiac Factory and the New, Patented, Dummy Double Hook and detachable hook fastening constitute, in our judgment the greatest improvement ever made on the artificial minnow.
The angler who uses this minnow will find by experience that it catches as largest percentage of the bass which strike it as the minnow equipped with one or two treble hooks on each side.
The one hook on either side is at all times in exact position for effectiveness and with the dummy projection below the hook, which meets the resistance of the lower jaw, is more deadly than any possible arrangement of a treble hook. Note how it nails em every time where they cant shake it out.
Note that this new hook makes the minnow weedless on the bottom, enabling the angler to draw it over snags, stones, etc. , without damage of catching, and as eight tenths of all snagging of hooks occurs from the bottom of the minnow, the feature will be of great value.
Note the convenience of handling this lure in the tackle box, also when removing the fish etc., when the danger of snagging the finger or other objects is almost entirely eliminated.
Try this bait and be convinced that it is a great improvement over any arrangement of treble hooks.

Cast or troll the bait near the lily pads and other aquatic vegetation where bass usually abound. Adjust the speed of retrieving to the depth of the water and other prevailing conditions. Always strike your fish as soon as it strikes the bait. A drop of oil on the spinners helps them to revolve more freely. Your success upon hooking fish depends largely upon keeping the points of the hooks sharp. Don’t allow them to get rusty and dull. A few minutes work with a fine file upon the points may prevent your loosing the big one.
