Heddon Deep Diving Wiggler
The Heddon Deep Diving Wiggler Lure is a true classic. First introduced in 1914 this wooden lure would be a staple for roughly the next dozen years in Heddon of Dowagiac Michigan’s Lure line up. It was assigned a model series number 1600. This lure features to very identifiable diving planes mounted on each side of the antique lures pointed head, giving the lure a very similar to the shape of a hang glider. This wooden lure measured 4 1/8″ in length was void of any eyes over its life span.

The lure like others in the Heddon line up would not only undergo changes in its hook hardware, but its line tie shape and hook placements as well. The lure can be found in a pig tail line tie which predated the inch worm line tie. The antique lure for only a few years employed the use of 2 side hooks instead of the more common 3 trailing trebles seen for most of its tenure.
The Deep Diving Wiggler can be found in less than a dozen standard finishes throughout the 13 years of production. However if you put forth some effort and time in the hobby you will no doubt run across a few uncatalogued colors which can make for great center pieces should you decide to collect the 1600.
