Heddon Crab Spook Lure
The Heddon Crab spook was a short lived antique lure. This plastic crab shaped lure was first introduced in 1935 and was produced all the way through 1943. The Crab Spook was given a model series number 9900 & 9909. This classic vintage lure used 2 bead eyes, and flap rig hardware for its 2T with the line tie on the rear so its drawn through the water more like a crayfish would.
We have a Super Crab Spook in on Consignment this week, click below to view.
The larger of the series measured 3″ in length, the smaller such as the one shown in the gallery below measures roughly 2 1/2″. The lure can be found with both a flasher trailing off the front of the nose or the addition of life-like feelers. The lures in this series can be found in roughly a half dozen different color finishes. The lure can be found housed in the era specific HR Brush box.
