Heddon Baby Vamp
The Heddon Baby Vamp Minnow was a logical and pragmatic continuation to the Heddon Vamp family. Made in the silhouette of of its larger older brother, the Baby Vamp was given a model series 7400 by the antique tackle colossus James Heddon & Sons of Dowagiac Michigan. This fishing lure was first brought into the Heddon line up in 1924 and would span decades as it would remain in form until 1943. With an initial selling price of $1.00 the lure would almost be guaranteed to stand up to the toils of the light tackle fisherman.

Made of wood and adorn with glass eyes, this classic was made for the light fisherman that didn’t want to sacrifice fit and function. This little brother could stand up to even some the most harden game fish just those of smaller stature. Pike, Wall Eye, Bass and Lake Trout would come to find this 3 1/2″, 1/2 oz too attractive to pass up. With its myriad standard and uncatalogued color finishes through the years, the Heddon Baby Vamp can be collected for years providing the thrill of the hunt for lure collectors.
The Heddon Baby Vamp lure would make its transitions through the decades and with it be outfitted with the newest and latest industry trends. It’s 2 trailing trebles would be secured with L Rig, Toilet Seat, & Flap Rig Two Piece hardware throughout its 19 year run. The Baby Vamp can be found with its typical and standard diving lip as well as could be special ordered later on in the late 30’s and 40s without a lip.
