Heddon Baby Dowagiac Lure
The Heddon Baby Dowagiac Lure made a few appearances in the Heddon antique fishing lure line up. Its first appearance was in 1909, and would run on and off up through the year 1929 when it would disappear. It would make a reappearance a quarter century later in 1951 and last about 5 years until its complete exit in 1956. While the lures are essentially the same there are notable differences. Phase 1 of its lifecycle it would have glass eyes, and measure 1 3/4″ in length. Its second cycle through it would measure 2 1/2″ in length and have tenite eyes.

1953 Heddon Catalog Baby Dowagiac
This is a midget size of the famous lure that produced memorable results for your dad and grandad, the original “Dowagiac”. Sinks slowly and is especially effective for walleyes, bass, white perch, large trout and crappies. A small treble hook on each side and one on the tail make this a deadly hooking lure. Fine for trolling and spinning.
