Donegal Brand Gladding Cuttyhunk Irish Linen Line Spool
The Donegal Brand Gladding Cuttyhunk Irish Linen Line Spool made for bass fishing was introduced in 1912 by the B. F. Gladding Line Company (est 1816) of South Otselic, New York. Gladding continued to make this DONEGAL brand until World War II, however, this version of the label was last used in 1922. The brand name DONEGAL honors the town of Donegal, meaning “fort of the foreigners” which was established in 1470 and is located in County Donegal in Ulster Ireland.

We have some great line spools available by following the link below
This spool and many others we have listed belonged to John Etchieson. John has spent decades amassing one of the largest line collections. The vast array of line spools and cards he has in his collection is historically significant as John has spent decades not only collecting, but rather researching these companies adding provenance to these pieces.
