Detroit Minnow Tube Antique Lure
The Detroit Minnow Tube Antique Lure is a classic staple to most advanced lure collections. Circa 1914 this antique fishing lure used the premises to save from having to replace minnows all day long. I’ve never quite understood the thinking with a glass fishing lure. As even the earliest of tackle boxes this is not something you would want rolling around in. One rock, one snag and smash, not only have you lost your lure you’ve created a hazard and pollution in the water.
There are two versions of the Detroit Minnow Tube you can find. The one shown below in the photo gallery and one that has a screw in cap. The glass body of this antique fishing lure measures 3 1/4″ in length. This version has the bail end cap or clip top. The top having two holes so that fresh water could keep the minnow alive. The antique fishing lure having 4 treble hooks two on each side.
