This Alta Line Antique Wooden Fishing Line Spool is 115 year old. Circa 1903 era ALTA brand Linen line for salt or fresh water fishing was hand made from the best flax imported from Ireland and manufactured by the Henry Hall Line Company (est. 1840) of Highland Mills, New York. This line was made for the H. H. Kiffe Company (est. 1872) dealers in Fishing Tackle and Hunting Outfits located at 535 Broadway in New York. This line was listed and described in their 1903 catalog and featured with the firm’s famous pre WWI era “Heffe Iron Cross” trade mark on the line spool label illustration
