Paw Paw Seagrams Seven Lure

The Paw Paw Seagrams Seven Lure was first produced in 1953, crafted in the same fashion as the logo on the popular adult beverage. The lure falls into a few categories in the antique lure world. Collectors who amass Logo or advertising lures, those who collect “Brewerina”, and finally those who collect metal and or Paw Paw Lures. The lure itself was made in Paw Paw Michigan by the Paw Paw Bait company.

This antique fishing lure measure 2 3/4″ in length. The lure has a single treble hook fixed to the body of the lure with a split shot ring. The lures were often sold on a counter stand up cardboard display. The lure is stamped on the reverse for identification purposes for both the manufacture and the advertiser. I tend to think if not from a pure novelty standpoint this lure would have to have been made for trolling for thirsty fish.

Shown in the gallery below is an example shown with its very tough and some may even use the word rare to find box and insert. While I’ve sold dozens of the lure by itself over the last few decades this is the first one Ive seen in a box.
