The Dowagiac Killer No. 5

What a great find early Heddon Adds are few and far between, especially pre teens. I had been doing some research on another neat article I used for a blog entry; the article Artificial Lures for Black Bass written in 1905. When the author reference a Number code for Heddon Lures that they had tried, and were successful on catching black bass with. It struck me as I had seen some somewhere else a reference to the number 2 in regards to a Dowagiac Expert lure, and have seen it in my 1903 Catalog, however that could just be Pritzlaff’s ordering scheme or catalog entry for the lure. Now with this lure I’m really confused as the author in the Artificial Lures for black bass had a picture template, albeit black and white, and No.1 looked like whats listed below at a Heddon 1 1/2. But he calls his other lure a number No 3 which has a single rear hook, with a minnow type body, with the photo having been taken from above. All his hooks seemed to have been changes to single hooks so its not that I question.

So as previously stated I’m really confused, and have now made this clear as mud. What is your thoughts post below and let me know!
